Tai Chi / Qi Gong

Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art that combines slow, flowing movements with deep breathing and meditation. It is often practiced for its health benefits, stress relief, and balance improvement. Tai Chi is rooted in traditional Chinese philosophy which emphasizes balance and harmony.

I use Tai Chi in my practice because it is a beautiful form of meditation that involves movement. Each movement represents an emotion or intention. Many of us struggle to keep our bodies and mind still while trying to meditate. I find that practicing Tai Chi solves this problem. You achieve the benefits of mediation while moving and focusing each movement on a specific intention.

I also like this form of meditation because it is easy on the body and suitable for all ages. It can be practiced standing or sitting.

Qi-Gong

Qi Gong (or Qigong) is a traditional Chinese practice that is similar to Tai chi in that it combines movement, meditation, and controlled breathing to cultivate and balance the body’s vital energy, known as “Qi” (or “Chi”). It is often used for health, relaxation, and spiritual development. Qi Gong usually incorporates an overall intention such as Love, Healing or Center in the practice.
